Red, white & blue, a neighborhood parade, hot dogs & hamburgers, popsicles & cupcakes, sparklers & fireworks! We had it all today and it made for a great 4th of July!
We started the day with a patriotric breakfast.
Our good friends invited us to join them for the Hayward 4th of July street party. This has been a street tradition for over 20 years and they know how to do it right! The festivities kicked off with a bike/wagon parade led by a police escort. It was so cute to see all of the decorated bikes and the kids having such a great time. Kenzie & Lexi enjoyed riding in their wagon and the people watching. They had a blast playing with all of the kids on the street, enjoyed their first hot dog and even participated in the candy hunt. After all that fun they were ready for a good nap.
This evening Daddy made a delicious grilled vegetable and smoked mozarella pizza for dinner which they girls LOVED! We topped it off with watermelon for dessert ... YUM! The girls were in bed before the Ault Park fireworks started at 10pm, so Randall and I caught a glimpse of them from our porch... thankfully the girls seem to have slept through them somehow :)
