{happy halloween!}

The girls had a great halloween despite the cold rainy weather.  They got to wear their costumes to school and exchanged treats with their friends.  We made orange play dough and little bags with jackolantern faces for them to bring.  After school Sara brought the girls downtown to have lunch with us at the office and then they went trick or treating around our floors.  They were so excited to be at mommy & daddy's work AND to get candy!  This evening we ventured out in the freezing rain for a little trick or treating on our street.  The girls were troopers and braved the cold in order to "get more candy!"  They had fun seeing all of their neighborhood friends dressed up ... in addition to our 2 little butterfly fairies, we had a garden gnome, a john deere tractor, a flower, a strawberry shortcake, an astronaut, a witch, a Snoopy, and an M&M.  Unfortunately it was too cold for the party that had been planned for in the cul-de-sac, but some neighbors did have a little gathering around a fire pit in their driveway.  We warmed up there for a while before calling it a night.  All in all a successful halloween!
