{cheers to 8 years (almost)!}

Randall and I celebrated 8 years of marriage in Miami this past weekend.  Our anniversary isn't actually until the 25th but since Randall was already down in Miami for work, it was the perfect weekend to join him for a little getaway.  It was only the second time that we have gone away together since the girls were born - it was much needed and so rejuvinating!  We stayed at the Canyon Ranch which was the perfect spot for some relaxation.  We relaxed on the beach, ate healthy (& not so healthy but delicious) food, ran 16 miles together, enjoyed yummy drinks, laid by the pool, had one of the top spa experiences of my life, and actually had time to talk and reconnect.  It was heaven.

Now, don't get me wrong, we certainly missed our girls.  But they had a great time with Sara while we were away.  They took a trip to the zoo, went out to dinner & enjoyed the festivities in Oakley square - which included Lexi riding a pony, which she was very proud of herself for, walked to breakfast, took a trip to the park, met Seth for lunch at Dewey's, went to church, had Mexican for dinner, played with our neighbors at the street party, walked to the farmers market and met up with friends, had lunch at Carl's Deli ... wow, I'm exhausted from just the recap.  Thanks Sara!

And we got home in time on Sunday to take the girls to Kings Island for P&G's annual dividend day.  We arrived around 5:30pm ... the crowds were sparse, the weather was perfect and the girls had a blast!  They rode on every single ride that they were tall enough to go on.  They loved them all with the exception of the roller coaster.  It was a tiny little coaster with just a couple of small hills and Randall and I got to ride with them, but it was a bit jerky and on the second lap around Lexi started crying.  I also lost my sunglasses on the ride because on one of the jerks they flew off the top of my head ... this caused Kenzie to cry because she was very distraught about mommy's lost glasses :)  Ironically, after the fact, when I ask the girls what their favorite ride was, their response is "roller coaster!"

It was so fun to watch the exitement on their faces.  It amazes me how different they are vs. when we were here last year.  Last year they cried on the one ride that they went on without mommy and daddy, while this year they were so independent.  They even played the water squirting game and each won a prize!

We stayed until dark and capped off a fun evening with a little ice cream.  What a perfect weekend!
